Pads and permits
The game has 54 playable construction pads. Pads 0–29 form the inner area; the outer pads unlock at Command Nexus L10. Base structure capacity is 2 + 2 × Nexus level, plus Orbital Construction Permits research. Defense-site capacity is 1 + Nexus level. A normal building cannot be upgraded above the Nexus level; the standard cap is L50.
| Nexus level | Base structure capacity before research | Defense-site capacity | Pad region |

| 2 | 6 | 3 | Inner |
| 3 | 8 | 4 | Inner |
| 5 | 12 | 6 | Inner |
| 10 | 22 | 11 | Inner + outer |

Construction, upgrades and finishing
Each building guide lists its construction price and upgrade costs. Eligible buildings in the starter path finish their first build in 5 seconds. Later upgrades take longer and cost more as the building levels up; an L1 building takes 30 seconds to reach L2. After L10, each additional current level adds two hours to the upgrade timer, up to a 30-hour limit. Finishing early costs 1 Ore for every 15 seconds remaining, rounded up. See each building’s level table for its exact next price and duration.
Move or remove a structure
Edit Base lets you move eligible structures to open, unlocked pads; moving into an occupied eligible pad swaps the two. Removing a structure asks for confirmation before the permanent change. An ongoing construction or upgrade cannot be used as an empty pad.
Damage and repair
Damaged buildings show health bars and lose production efficiency. Automatic repair runs over time; the Repair Dock, Repair Drones research, Premium, and applicable Alliance/territory bonuses speed it up. An instant repair spends Ore based on the missing health. See Defenses and repair.
